If you look down by the clock you may or may not see a icon, as in my case it looks like ENG. It's so you can change the language quickly if you need such a service. This in older versions of Windows always looked like a keyboard. If you only worked with one language and don't bother to use it here's how to remove it.
Right click on the taskbar, usually on the bottom of the screen. And click on Taskbar settings.
Scroll down to the section that says Notification area and then click on Turn system icons on or off.
Then find Input Indicator in the list. Just click on the little switch icon to turn it off. While you are here you can disable or enable any other icon you want.
If you don't want the clock showing, just flip the switch. That's it.
