Was on my computer this morning and discovered I had lost the ability to create new folders. In fact all the right-click menu context options where gone. Also in Windows Exploere there is an option for to create a New Folder but that one did nothing. I believe I had this problem before.
I wrote about this before here: How To Fix No New Options In Right-Click Context Menu. But there is another method.
The solution is to use the following reg file to fix it. Open up notepad or similar program and create a new text file. Copy and paste the following lines in that file. Then save it (your choice of name), mine was no_new_folder_options.reg.
You have to save as it as a .reg file by changing the .txt extension to .reg.
You'll probably need Administrative privelages and allow any security prompts. You'll also get a prompt asking if "Are you sure you want to add the information in no_new_folder_options.reg to the registry?". Click Yes.
No restart required, it takes effect immediatally.

7:10 PM April 21, 2016
Just got a call from a woman who couldn't print from her laptop. She as a Windows 8 laptop and when she tried to print anything she would get the error message RPC Server not available. Let me explain her setup first.
She has a Windows 7 laptop directly connected to a HP printer (cannot remember exact model). Her windows 8 laptop connects through the wireless to the Windows 7 through printer sharing. It was working for awhile then all of a sudden she was trying to print up a document and it wouldn't go through.
So I suggested restarting the computers, didn't work. Pulling the power plug from the printer and plugging it in again, didn't work. Going to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services and looking for the Remote Procedure Call (RCP) service is running. It was. I asked her to right click on it and see if she could stop it or restart it. All options where grayed out and unclickable.
So I asked her to do the same thing with the Print Spooler service. Right click on it and choose Stop from the menu and then right-click again and click on Start. BINGO. It worked.
Other printing problems can be cleared by doing the following:
Click on Start button. In your search bar type in cmd. Right click and Run As Administrator. Type the following and press enter after each line.
net stop spooler
del /Q /F /S "%systemroot%\System32\Spool\Printers\*.*"
net start spooler
This stops the spooler service, empties the spool folder, and restarts the spooler service.
You could put these lines in a batch file or if your a glutton for punishment you could manually stop the service through the control panel and empty the folder through Windows Explorer and then restart the service. Whichever you feel most comfortable doing.
At one time it was nearly impossible to take a screen shot of a movie scene because of a thing called interlacing or something. If you tried using the print screen button, I can tell you from experience that all you would of gotten is a black screen. Eventually media players developed the ability to allow you to take screen shots.
The first media player that I used that could do this was Media Player Classic, still available at https://mpc-hc.org/
Then all I had to do is pause the video where I wanted to save the screen and press Alt + I. Then it would prompt you to save it. I used it for awhile. I fooled around with VLC to at the time only on my system it didn't seem to live up to all the hype. I can't remember when or even why but I did eventually switch over to VLC.
Using the print screen button on modern day systems seems to work just fine. Then you have to paste the results in some photo editing program and save it. On my desktop keyboard the print screen button is labelled PrtSc.
If you use VLC https://www.videolan.org/vlc/ . Open up VLC and you'll notice the standard bar of buttons at the bottom of the player. Now click on View in the top menu and click on Advanced Controls. You will now notice a second smaller bar appear over the first.
The first icon is just a Red dot. This is the record button. If you want to record a segment of a video to it's own clip just click on it to start it recording. The surrounding area on the button turns blue to show that it's recording. Clicking on it again will stop the recording. The recordings automatically go into your My Videos folder.
If you just want a still picture to use as your computer background the go to the next icon which looks like a picture of a camera. Pause the video to what screen you want to capture. The play button becomes the pause button when a video is playing otherwise use the space bar to pause the video. Then just click on the camera icon.
You'll notice a thumbnail view of the picture you have just taken in the top left hand corner of your screen also it will give the path and name of the picture you just took. They usually just go into your My Pictures folder. They will be automatically named something like vlcsnap-3715-04-23-07h00m13s988.png. With the date and time integrated. Movie clips are saved in a similar manner but in the My Video folder.
Telling you from experience, sometimes it's tricky stopping the video exactly where you want it. Stop it slightly before the scene you want to capture and then pause it and keep pressing the letter E on your keyboard. This will move you ahead one frame at a time. The words Next frame appears in the top right hand corner.
Other media players probably have their own method of doing this. Read the help files (like anybody does this :-)) or do a little bit of research on-line to find out how.
